Ok. You've just started your new home based business. What's next? Leads! Yes, if you're going to succeed in your home business, you must have tons of leads. After all, it is a "numbers game". The only way to find prospects is by picking up the telephone and making call after call after call!
Imagine this. You work hard all day at the job. You come home exhausted; eat a quick supper, and get all excited because you're going to get on that phone and make money. With your lead list in front of you - the one you bought that was guaranteed "fresh" - you practice what you're going to say. Then you reach for the telephone to begin your prospecting. Suddenly you get a lump in your throat and the phone looks like a 25 pound dumb bell.
Reminding yourself of all that money you're going to make, you grit your teeth and dial the first number. No answer. You dial the second number. Busy. You dial the third number. Disconnected. You dial the fourth number. Finally, a real person answers. They want to know how you got their number, and ask you to please take them off your list. On the seventh call another real person answers. They want to know all about your opportunity, so you invite them to a presentation. After seven calls, you’ve found one prospect!
Whew! You need a break. You go get your coffee refilled and return to your office. Managing to dial about twenty more numbers, you succeed in finding one more person who agrees to be on the presentation call tomorrow. By now you're thinking," Prospecting is hard work. This is going to get old fast. If only there was a way that I could just dial the people who wanted to hear what I have to say. If only there was an easier way."
The last century brought all kinds of new technology into the world. For sales, one of the greatest inventions was the telephone. We all know because of the onslaught of telemarketers that interrupt our dinner. The truth is, though, it works! Just ask Time Life. They have 7 phone centers with about 50 telemarketers prospecting from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM every day. with each caller making about 50 phone calls an hour. That's around 250,000 calls a day! Sales are made, despite the fact that people will say they hate telemarketers. Amazing!
This century has brought a new breed of software that is so comprehensive that it is called “business communication” software. Instead of making call after call, this amazing software makes the calls for you. Then it automatically answers the inbound calls from prospects and enters their data into a database. Now, all you have to do when you come home from work, or go to work if you’re a professional sales person, is call these people who have already expressed an interest in your offer. Is that an “easier way?”
Now that you’re aware of this “breakthrough” software marketing system, you no longer have to make excuses for not wanting to make all those “cold calls”. You can now work “smarter, not harder”. You’ll have more time to do all the other things you must do to run your business, and actually increase your sales and profits. Prospecting just moved into the 21st century!
